Beavers vs Scrappers



Red Raiders 12 – Scrappers 5


Red Raiders improved to 5-0 today.  Scrappers show signs of improved recognition of defensive play, as well as improved contact with the ball.  In the closest game of the season for the Scrappers ended in a loss, but made things very interesting, tying up the game in the fourth inning.
Scrappers got their second homerun of the season off the bat of Evan Walker.


Stars 11 – Beavers 1


 The stars beat the beavers 11-1 on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning game. The stars scored one run in the first inning on keleb Pritchard’s RBI single. Keleb went 3-3 with a single,double and triple. The stars added five runs in the third. Joe Oneill 2-3 had a RBI single to help add to the total. The beavers scored there only run in the third off the bat of Damarion with a RBI double. This made the score 6-1. The stars played solid defense to stop any beavers attempts to score runs. skylar louwers, Jameson Grunenwald and Owen Pitters played superb defense to quell the beavers offense. The stars finalized the game with another five runs in the bottom of the 5th. Young six year old jontea wright got his second hit of the season going 1-2 with a single. Great game played by both teams.

Stars 11 – Scrappers 8


Scrappers had the hottest bats of their season, but still fell to the Stars .  Scrappers had fifteen hits in all.  Flashes of brilliant defensive play spotted the game, particularly in the final inning when the Stars stopped a last minute run by top of the Scappers’ bating order.Scrappers outstanding players were Roderick and Xavier, both with pop-fly catches.  The hustle award could be awarded to several players, but Jaden, Daniel, and Roderick showed their best effort.


Red Raiders 13 – Beavers 6


OssBoth teams came out hitting tonight, each scoreing 4 in the 1st.  The Raiders added 1 in the second, 3 in the fourth and 5 in the fifth.  The Beavers added1 in the second and fourth.
Tyler Zielinski was a single away from the cycle.  Julian Young and Matt Cichocki each had key doubles.  Other hitters were Dionte Smith, Ethan Dorsett, TerrellCrosson, Aiden Barbour, Jonah Chaperon, Kameron Garfield, Landen Willis and Ryan Jenkens

Scrappers 8 –  Beavers 0


Scrappers managed to scrap out their first victory of the season, topping the Beavers by eight runs through five complete innings of play.  Game ball was awarded to Xavier Emanuel who marked the first grand slam home run in more than two years.  Andrew Horman, Bobby Rhodes and Evan Walker all went 3 for 3 hitting.  Evan maintains his perfect season batting average, (8 for 8 on the season) and turned an unassisted double play.

Red Raiders 13 –  Stars 9


The Red Raiders and scored 3 in the top of the 1st but the Stars were able to take the lead with 4 of their own.  The Red Raiders were able to tack on 3 more in the 3rd, 5 in the 5th and two more in the 6th while holding the Stars until allowing 4 in the 5th and one in the 6th. Both teams were hitting the ball well but a few timely defensive plays by Ryan Jenkins who had 4 put outs from 1st base and pitchers mound kept the Stars from mounting a rally.
Ryan and Julian Young were both 4for4 while Ethan Dorsett broke out of a mini slump going 3for3 with two doubles.  Jonah Chaperon also broke out going 2for3.  Dionte Smith was also 3for3 and continues to play solid in the field.

A matchup of undefeated teams proved to entertain. The red raiders beat the stars 13-8 to take sole possession of first place. This was the first game this season the stars bats were cooled down. Although the great defense of the raiders helped to cool those bats. Ryan Jenkins 4-4 and Julian young 4-4 made multiple defensive put outs that proved to tilt the game in favor of the raiders. The stars led by skylar louwers 3-3 and Nathan schaefer3-3. Nathan Schaefer also had an incredible diving catch at the pitchers mound. Keleb Pritchard hit a 3 RBI triple in the 5th that got the stars back into the game late. Although the raiders held on to prevail 13-8. Great game played by both teams. Looking forward to see the next game between these two teams.
