In a Classic Ballgame tonight on LL#1. The Tigers played hard for 6 innings as did the Giants. This was one of the best ballgames this author has been involved in. The Tigers were led by the great pitching of Lamar Pearson and DJ Edwards was superb in relief as he has been all year! At the plate Jon Tae Wright hit a 2 run home run, Terrell Crosson had 2 hits and a RBI, DJ drove in a run with his single. Charlie Rocho was 2 for 4 with a RBI, brother Henry was 3 for 3 with a RBI. Julian Young singled and drove in a run, while Cam Wilson finished of a great year going 2 for 3 with a double. Max Praet and Aveon each singled to add to the hitting attack. City Champion Detroit Tigers give a hats off to the NL Giants on a great year and a great City Championship Series.

The Tigers took Game 1 tonight behind the great starting pitching of Henry Rocho and the fantastic work DJ Edwards did on the mound in relief, keeping himself under 20 pitches. Henry struck out the side in the 4th inning for a total of 8 K’s in 4-2/3 innings of work. DJ pitched 1-1/3 innings in the 6th he put out all 3 batters himself with 2 pop ups to the mound and ended the game with a strikeout. The Tigers pulled a 6-4-3 double play tonight to stop a Giant Rally. DJ was big at the plate tonight also going 2 for 3 with a RBI. Lamar Pearson doubled in a run, Demarion Rouse had a bases loaded walk for a RBI. Julian Young doubled, while Max Praet reached base twice with HBP and a single and Aveon Royster singled.

Game 2 Thursday Night and it should be a good one.

Lamar Pearson took the mound tonight and struck out 8 in 4 innings of work. Big time contribution to tonight’s Tiger game was Javion Gray, who the Tigers had to call up from the Bulls because they were shorthanded. He proceeded to get 2 hits including a double with 2RBI and made a great defensive catch in right. Who didn’t hit tonight for the Tigers is the question. The answer EVERYONE HIT! Cam Wilson was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, DJ Edwards had a triple and a double for his 3 RBI night. Terrell Crosson had 2 hits with 2 RBI while Charlie Rocho was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Julian Young had a big day at the plate going 3 for 3 with a triple, double and 4 RBI. Aveon Royster had 2 hits including a double and 2 RBI and Lamar drove in a run with a single, while Henry Rocho had 2 hits including a double and 2 RBI. On to the City Championship next Tuesday for a rematch with the Giants from 2017.

Henry Rocho took the mound tonight for the Tigers and proceeded to throw a no-hitter, with the only Yankee reaching base on a dropped fly ball to center. The Tiger hitting was led by Terrell Crosson’s 3 RBI night with his 2 hits. DJ Edwards was 2 for 2 with a RBI, Charlie Rocho had 2 hits and 2 RBI while Henry helped his cause by singling in a run. Aveon “Ace” Royster wheeled out 2 infield singles and drove in a run. Lamar Pearson  singled in a run. Demarion Rouse had a 2 RBI night. Missing 2 key players in Max Praet and Cam Wilson the team picked up the slack and won as a team.

Big Cam Wilson Cam up with the game winning RBI for the Tigers tonight, in this classic battle between 2 solid teams. Each team finishing with a record of 13 and 4. DJ Edwards was fantastic on the mound to hold the Giants in check and earn the win. Henry Rocho was solid on the mound tonight also. At the plate Max Praet was 2 for 3 with a RBI, Charlie Rocho homered and doubled driving in 2 runs, brother Henry Rocho singled and drove in 2 runs. Jon Tae Wright continues to hit the ball with 2 singles and a RBI. Cam Wilson was 1 for 2 with a sacrifice. Terrell Crosson had 2 hits and Demarion Rouse singled to round out the hitting. Max Praet was the defensive standout tonight making all the plays at second base and making some great catches in left field, also doubling off a runner to end an inning.

The Giants jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the 1st inning and added 7 more in the 2nd and coasted to a victory. Every Giants player reached base at least once. The highlight of the game though came from the combined no-hitter thrown by Jo Jo Jones (1.2IP, 0Runs, 0Hits, 1K, 4Walks) and Matt Cichocki (2.1IP, 0Runs, 0Hits, 3K, 3Walks)

The Tigers entered today’s game with 1st place in the A.L. all wrapped up, so Coach D decided to give his young talent the ball to pitch today giving them a chance to show their talents. So we took it on the chin tonight. Great pitching by Max Praet, Terrell Crosson and Jon Tae Wright, which the score does not reflect due to a lot of errors tonight.  The Tigers and Giants are currently tied with the best records at 12-3 leading to the final game between these 2 great teams next Thursday. Should be a great one!

Led by the pitching of Lamar Pearson and Julian Young in relief the Tigers were able to win another. After the first inning 2 run Home Run by Cardinal Jerome Sims the Tiger pitchers shut the Cardinals down. The Tiger bats were led by Henry Rocho’s 2 for 3 performance and 3 RBI, while brother Charlie walked all 3 times tonight. Demarion Rouse drove in 2 runs with a single, Lamar helped his cause with a double that drove in 2 runs. DJ Edwards doubled in a run and walked twice, while Max Praet and Terrell Crosson were 1 for 1. Cam Wilson went 1 for 2 and Jon Tae Wright singled in a run. Some good defense tonight put in by Jon Tae at first base and Julian Young at third. Terrell Crosson was solid behind the plate.

Jon Tae Wright led the way for the Tigers tonight, going 4 for 4 with a Home Run and 5 RBI. DJ Edwards went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI while Terrell Crosson had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Charlie Rocho continues his hitting ways by going 2 for 3 with a double & 3 RBI and brother Henry Rocho had 2 hits including a double and 2 RBI. Max Praet singled, Cam Wilson went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Lamar Pearson had a great day at the plate with 2 doubles and driving in a run. Demarion rounded out the Tiger hitting with a RBI single. Great pitching tonight by Henry, DJ and Max.

Terrell Crosson led the Tiger hitting attack going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI. Charlie Rocho had 2 hits and 3 RBI while brother had 2 RBI with his 2 hits. Cam Wilson and Demarion Rouse each singled in a run. Julian Young singled in a run as did Aveon Royster. Jon Tae Wright continues to smack the ball hard driving in a run. DJ Edwards tripled.Julian Young came in relief for Lamar Pearson and they both pitched real well.

Charlie Rocho went 4 for 4 with a Home Run, Double and 5 RBI. Every Tigers came to hit tonight. Jo Tae wright went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI, Aveon Royster drove in 2 runs with his 2 hits. Cam Wilson went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI, DJ Edwards doubled in a run while Demarion Rouse had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Henry Rocho was 2 for 2 with a double and 3 RBI. Terrell Crosson and Max Praet each added singles as did Lamar.

What a great ballgame on LL#1 tonight. Both teams play hard for 6 innings of baseball. The Tiger bats were led by Jon Tae Wright with his 2 RBI single, Henry Rocho drove in 2 runs with his single, Aveon Royster hit a frozen rope single for a RBI. DJ Edwards drove in run with his single, Lamar Pearson lined a single to drive in a run. Demarion Rouse had an RBI single. Terrell Crosson singled tonight as did Max Praet with their beautiful bunts singles. Henry Rocho came in to pitch the 6th to earn the save. Lamar Pearson and Julian Young also took the mound tonight. Julian was pitcher of record to earn the win.

The Cardinals played a great game tonight led by Dionte Smith’s massive blast to the picnic tables for a home run. Syer Fazekas took the mound in relief and was fantastic holding the Tiger bats a bay to help the Cards fight back into the game.

A combined shutout for Tigers DJ Edwards and Terrell Crosson tonight. DJ also had 2 RBI tonight. Jon Tae Wright continues to hit the ball hard, doubling and driving in a run. Charlie Rocho also singled in a run.


Giants 10 – Cardinals 8

The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead in a steady drizzle Saturday afternoon and took a 2-0 lead into the fifth but th Giants managed to score 4 in the top of the 5th but the Cards came back with 4 in the bottom of the inning to send the game into the 6th with a 6-4 lead. The Giants pushed across 6 in the sixth with Tyler Zielinski hitting his second HR in 2 games. Devion Quainton was 3 for 4 and Matt Cichocki was 2 for 3 just missing an HR of his own. Alex Willis contributed to the 6th inning ralley with a solid base hit. Special thanks to Aiden Barber for coming up and filling in for the short handed Giants today. Aiden had two singles to help the Giants to a hard fought victory.
Jerrell Crosson pitched a great game going 4 innings then Nate Schaefer came in to pitch the final 2 innings.

The Giants bats were hot Friday night as every player reached base and scored at least once. The biggest hit came in the bottom of the first when Tyler Zielinski smacked a 3run HR to center field. Dave Hemphill and Deon Morton both pitched well in the victory.

What a Classic Little League game on Diamond 2 tonight between these 2 good teams. The Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning and added one more in the top of the 5th to make it 4-0. After the 1st, Tyler Zielinski took command on the mound and shut the Tigers down until Nate Schaefer took over in the 5th.The Giants bats were quiet early but managed to score 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game. In the bottom of the 6th, Devion Quainton came up with 2 outs and smacked a single into center field scoring Ryan Jenkins from second for the game winning run. Good defense by Jonah Chaperon making a nice catch in right field and Nate with two running stabs on pop ups at short.

For the Tigers Lamar Pearson started and pitched the first 3 innings striking out 8. Demarion Rouse was 2 for 2 at the plate, DJ Edwards added 2 hits, Charlie Rocho had a single and a RBI Sacrifice Fly. Julian Young added a single.

Henry “The Hammer” Rocho took the mound tonight for the Tigers striking out 10. He was backed by a solid hitting performance by the entire team. DJ “Flash” Edwards was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI, Terrell “Lightning” Crosson singled in a run, Charlie “Big Poison” Rocho doubled again tonight while going 2 for 3, Julian “Thunder” Young was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI. Jon Tae “JT” Wright was 2 for 3, Aveon “Ace” Royster singled in a run. Lamar “The Bullet” Pearson went 2 for 2 while Demarion “Big D” Rouse doubled in a run. Cam Wilson singled in a run as did Henry, while Max “Rocket” Praet reached base both times tonight. Ace made a great catch in left field. What a total team effort!

The Giants beat the Cardinals 8-3 tonight behind the strong pitching of Devion Quainton. Devion 3.2 innings before running out of pitches. He held the Cards to 2 runs, three hits, 4 walks while striking out 5. Ryan Jenkins pitched the final 2.1 innings allowing 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk while striking out 5.
Devion and Ryaled the offense going 3 for 3 with Devion hitting a tripple
Special thanks to Nick Lang and Kenny Huff for coming out and subing for the Giants. Nick drew 2 walks and Kenny played well in the outfield

Lamar Pearson took the mound for the Tigers tonight. Pitching 2-1/3 innings while throwing 50 pitches, striking out 2. DJ Edwards came in for relief, pitching real well this season. He struck out 3 while only throwing 34 pitches in a 1-2/3 innings work. Terrell Crosson made a great play at short tonight, par usual! At the plate the Tigers had 9 players tonight with Max Praet on the IR and they all came to hit tonight! Led by Charlie “Big Poison” Rocho going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Julian “Thunder” Young went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Jon Tae Wright continues to hit well by singling in a run. Lamar helped his cause by hitting a frozen rope double down the left field line driving in a run. Dj Edwards also helped the cause with a double and RBI tonight. Henry ” The Hammer” Rocho singled in 2 and Aveon “Ace” Royster a bullet down the 1st base line for a single. A total team effort!

On Crossover weekend it was Tigers vs. Tigers. Aveon Royster made his Major League debut on the mound for the home team. He pitched 2 innings while striking out 5. Terrell Crosson also made his Major League debut coming in to pitch 2 innings of solid relief striking out 2. DJ Edwards made a ESPN highlight play today at short diving to the third base side to make  a great play and got up to throw the runner out at first. He also had a triple today, driving in a run and scoring. Charlie Rocho was 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Brother Henry was 2 for 2 driving in a run and scoring 2. Julian Young was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. Jon Tae Wright had a RBI as did Lamar Pearson. 


Giants 21 – CFLL Indians 1

The HWLL Giants took on the CFLL Indians today and came out with a big win.
Deon Morton made his pitching debut and pitched two no-hit innings. Jerrell Crosson took over in the third and surrendered just 1 run in two innings in his pitching debut. Every Giants batter reached base and scored in the first inning with Ryan Jenkins and Tyler Zielinski hitting back to back inside the park home runs. Deon also hit an inside the park home run in the third inning.
Good defense by the Giants was on display with Ryan throwing out a runner at third and Deon also throwing one from the left field fence to Matt Cichocki at third who put the tag on the runner for the final out of the game.18

Great pitching performance by Tigers Lamar Pearson with 5 strikeouts in 2 innings and Dj Edwards who had 7 strikeouts in 2 innings, one of which was a passed ball and runner was almost out at first by a great throw by catcher Max Praet. The entire Tiger team had their hitting shoes on tonight. Julian Young was 2 for 2 with a 3 run Homer. DJ Edwards continues his hitting ways as Tiger lead off hitter going 3 for 3 with a double, RBI and 2 runs. Henry Rocho had a RBI single, Max Praet singled and scored. Jon Tae Wright was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI, as was Terrell Crosson also with 2 RBI. Lamar was 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI. Cam Wilson was 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI. Demarion Rouse had a RBI and Aveon Royster singled and drove in a run. Some solid defense by Julian at third and Terrell at second. A total team contribution.

Opening day at HWLL was a rematch of last years City Championship between the Giants and Tigers. The Tigers opened up with 3 runs in the top of the first but the Giants answered with 5 of their own. The Giants scored 3 more in the third and one in the fifth while the Tigers were held until they scored 3 more in the sixth.
Giants hitters were Ryan Jenkins, Nate Schaefer, Tyler Zielinski, Jo Jo Jones, Devion Quainton, and Landen Willis. Jo Jo hit a three run HR in the third inning. Ryan Jenkins threw 50 pitches and Nate Schaefer threw 75 for the Giants.

The Tigers were led by Charlie Rocho’s 2 hits with a RBI. Lamar Pearson added a hit as did Jon Tae Wright and DJ Edwards who hit a double.


Tigers 6 – Cardinals 3

What a ballgame tonight on LL#2. Solid pitching on both sides. The Tigers Pitchers Henry Rocho, 4Ks, Lamar Pearson 5 Ks and DJ Edwards came in to shut down the Cards for the 5th and 6th inning striking out 5 to earn the win. The staff threw a combined 3 hitter. The Tigers hitters all came to play tonight. DJ was 1 for 2 with a walk 2 runs and 1 RBI. Max Praet laid down a beautiful bunt single to drive in a run and scored. Charlie Rocho roped a double, Julian Young doubled in a run. Jon Tae Wright hit a frozen rope single. Lamar was 1 for 1 with a double and a walk. Terrell Crosson drove in a run by legging out an infield single. Big base running play by DJ for his delayed steal of home. Cam Wilson and Aveon Royster each earned a walk. Some solid defense by Julian at third, Aveon in center, Terrell at second and short and Max at second.

The Cardinal staff was led by Kam Garfield with 5 strike outs and Xavier Emanuel who struck out 6. The Cardinals bats were led by Matt Blazejewski had a single, Jerome Sims hit a frozen rope double, Dionte Smith hit a hard single. Some solid defense at short by Dionte.


Giants 5 – Yankees 2

The first game of the season was a good one on LL1. The Giants were lead by the .strong pitching of David Hemphill (3.2 innings, 2 runs, 3 hits, 3 walks, 8 strikeouts) . Jo Jo Jones pitched the final 2.1 innings allowing 1 run, 0 hits, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts.
Jo Jo and Landen Willis were both 3for3 at the plate. Other Giants with hits were Nate Schaefer, Matt Cichocki, Devion Quainton and Johah Chaperon.
