Game 1 of City Championship
The Tigers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but the Giants fought back scoring nine in the 3rd led by Terry Smith’s grand slam. Bo Leonard and Joe Willis each threw 50 pitches in the big win.
Game 2 is Tuesday evening and should be a good game. The Tiger bright spot was Kaleb Pritchard 2 run blast that landed on LL#2 and his pitching performance was real good also.

Yet another great ball game between 2 equals teams tonight. The Yankees were leading 3-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, led by Gabe Scott’s 2 run Home Run. In the Tiger 5th, Jon Tae Wright leads off with a crucial single bringing up the top of the order. The Tigers then proceeded to score 6 runs to take an 8-3 lead. In the 6th the Yankees were not done scoring 3 runs of their own to make it an 8-6 final. The Tigers were led by rookie sensation Henry Rocho, who took the mound tonight for the home team, holding the Yanks to 3 runs. Julian Young, as always this season came in relief and held the Yankees off enough to earn the save. At the plate the Tigers were led by Julian, who went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI. Leadoff hitter Max Praet, with his keen eye at the plate walked twice and scored the tying run. Kenyon Pritchard had a 2 RBI single in the 5th, Henry Rocho reached base all 3 times to help his cause. Tonight every player came to play ball and into the game pitch by pitch. Some stellar defense by Ben Praet, both behind the plate and short. He picked of a runner at first from behind the dish. Max Praet made some crucial plays at second base, Kenyon also made a running catch in left. DJ Edwards was solid in his stint behind the plate. Lukas Pietsch made a couple of nice plays tonight as did Julian at short and on the mound. Henry was most impressive with his 3 great plays on the mound. Coach D would like to thank Coach Nick for his return to the dugout, Coach Digz for his help in keeping this team ready to play and into the game. Coach Matt was great with the runners coaching first and Coach Steve kept the dugout into every play of the game. Coach D stated ” I am a lucky man to have such a good staff and a great group of fighters in his players.” ON TO THE CITY CHAMPIONSHIP VERSUS THE GIANTS. Should be a good series!

What a 7 inning battle today on LL#1 with the Tigers pulling out game #1 of the playoffs by a 7th inning solo blast off the bat of Lukas Pietsch and the great relief work of Julian Young to earn the win. Every player on the team for the Tigers either drove in a run or scored a run. A total Tiger Team Effort today!

Strong pitching by Joe Willis, Mason Tringali, and Devion Quainton for the Giants tonight. The defense looked much better with strong play at 2nd base by Landen Willis and Jonah Chaperon along with catching by Ryan Jenkins and Matt Cichocki. Jonah was the offensive hero with 3 singles tonight.

After falling behind 4-0 the Tigers fought back behind the great relief pitching of Henry Rocho who held the Yankee bats in check the rest of the way. The Tiger hitting was led by Kaleb Pritchard’s 3 run homer and double. Lukas Pietsch doubled and had a RBI. Kenyon Pritchard doubled, Charlie Rocho singled in a run. A lot of patience at the plate as they earned 11 base on balls. The Tiger team is rounding themselves out and finding their winning ways just in time for the playoffs. It was great to have coach Nick back in the dugout. GO TIGERS

The Tiger bats were hot tonight! Led by Caleb Morisette’s 2 for 2 evening with a RBI. Julian Young was 2 for 3, Kaleb Pritchard continues to hit rockets with his double and 2 RBI night. Ben Praet not only pitched a fine game but also went 3 for 3 with a walk and 3 RBI. Jon Tae Wright had a big single with 2 walks and scored 2 runs. Max Praet was 1 for 1 with 2 walks, Charlie Rocho added a single and RBI and DJ rounded out the hitting with a single. Tigers are preparing themselves for the playoffs. No Job Tonight Team!
Giants 14 – Tigers 4
The Giants were led bt Bo Leonards 3.1 strong innings pitched and 2 HRs. Mason Tringali, Ryan Jenkins, Terry Smith, Matt Cichocki, Jonah Chaperon, and Landen Willis all had hits. Joey Willis, Devion Quainton and Tyler Zielinski all drew walks and Rodd Monts was hit by a pitch so all Giants players reached base. Joey came in and pitched 1.2 innings to secure the victory. The Tigers were led by Kaleb Pritchard who homered and doubled, Caleb Morisette and his bat are starting to ignite as he went 2 for 2. Charlie Rocho continues to contribute to the team with a double tonight. Brother Henry Rocho is turning into a fine pitcher and solid ball player. DJ Edwards laid down a beautiful bunt single. Lukas Pietsch added a double as did Julian Young.

Strong pitching by Tyler Zielinski and Landen Willis held the visiting Clintondale Fraser team to just 2 runs. Every Giant reached base at least once.

Henry Rocho took the mound today for his major league starting debut. Pitching 4 strong innings, great relief work by 9 year olds Max Praet and DJ Edwards. At the plate Julian Young stole the show by doubling, homering, singling for a 5 RBI day. Ben Praet doubled in 2 runs, Max continues to stroke the ball by going 2 for 3 with a 2 RBI day. Kaleb Pritchard was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, Henry, besides his great job on the mound, went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Caleb Morisette had a phenominal day at the plate going 3 for 3 and driving in 1 while scoring 2. Charlie Rocho helped his brother to a win by going 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and Cam Wilson rounded out by going 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI.

Some bright spots for the Tigers in their loss tonight. Lukas Pietsch hit his 9th Homer of the season and added a RBI double. Max Praet singled and scored 2. Julian Young drove in a run with his double. Ben Praet singled and walked while Charlie Rocho continues his hitting ways with a RBI single and brother Henry had a RBI. Mason Tringali and Devion Quainton both pitched strong for the Giants

What a back and forth battle on LL#1 tonight. The Tigers were led by Kenyon Pritchard who was 3 for 3 with a Homer and 2 RBI. Ben Praet went 4 for 4 with a double and RBI, while striking out 11 in his mound appearance. Brother Max had a single. Lukas Pietsch had 2 hits including a double and a RBI. Cam Wilson, Charlie Rocho and Jon Tae Wright each had singles. Some crucial fielding errors for the Tigers cost them a ballgame tonight. They know it and continue to believe they learn from their mistakes and that it is all about the playoffs and will be ready to go full throttle!

We finished the tie from earlier in the season during this game with the Giants taking both games. Bo Leonard pitched a complete game 1 hitter (14Ks, 0 walks).
Bo also hit a 2 run HR in the 1st to get things started
Cardinals 8 – Tigers 7
What a great ball game on a sun shining evening on LL#1. The Cardinals were led by Matt Blaze’s RBIs on a sharp single to left, Quintez White doubled in a run, KJ Kelsey singled in a run while Zach Hill singled. The Tiger contributors at the plate were Max Praet who singled, walked and scored a run, DJ Edwards singled, Kaleb Pritchard doubled in 2 runs and drove in another for a 3 RBI evening and Charlie Rocho singled.
Giants 16 – Cardinals 15
Real barn burner on LL2 tonight. The Cards took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st but the Giants came back with 4 runs led by Terry Smith’s first career HR! The Cards came back and took a 13-7 lead but the Giants were able to fight back to earn the win on Matt Cichocki’s walk off free pass.
Tyler Zelinski, Ryan Jenkins, Terry, Jonah Chaperon and Bo Leonard all had 2 hits. Elise Chaperon abd Matt both had hits while Mason Tringalli, Joe Willis and Landen Willis all drew walks.
Good base running bt Mason, Ryan and Tyler to help secure the victory.

A great battle on LL#1 tonight! The Yankees prevailed 9-8. The Tigers had sone highlights tonight. Lukas Pietsch had two homers, Kaleb Pritchard had 2 hits, DJ Edwards and Caleb Morisette each had singles.
Tigers 18 – LC Orioles 2
The Tiger bats were rockin’ today! Led by Lukas Pietsch and his 2 Home Runs and double driving in 8 runs. He also struck out 8 in his short pitching performance. Ben Praet continues to hit well, going 2 for 2 with a RBI, DJ Edwards was 1 for 2 with a RBI, Julian Young was 2 for 2 with a sac fly for a 2 RBI day. Kaleb Pritchard continues to stroke the ball, going 2 for 2, Charlie Rocho drove in 2 with his double, Caleb Morisette also doubled in a run. Kenyon Pritchard and Max Praet added singles. Jon Tae Wright walked and Henry Rocho hit the ball hard but the opposing defense made 2 nice plays.

Strong pitching by Mason Tringali (3 innings, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, 5Ks), Joey Willis (2 innings, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, 3Ks), and Bo Leonard (1 inning, 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 walk, 1 catcher interference, 1K).
Ryan Jenkins had a strong game catching 5 innings and moving to 1st base fir the 6th.
Devion Quantin had 2 singles, Mason had 2 doubles, Bo with a triple, Joey with a double, Elise Chaperon, Rodd Monts, and Tyler Zielinski all had singles but the offensive star was Terry Smith with 2 doubles and a single. Special note: Manager Jeff Cichocki showed opposite field power with an HR to right, one bounce to the batting cage in warm-ups

Yankees 25 – LC A’s 5
Yankees took on the Oakland Athletics from L’Anse Creuse. On the mound for the Yankees Kenyan Powers was the starting pitcher, Cardale Patterson in his debut as middle relief and Bobby Rhodes to close. All bats were alive with triples by Calvin Thompson, Kenyan Powers & doubles by Cardale Patterson and Markiese Young. Yankees continued to play tight defense with high energy.
Yankees 4 – Giants 1
Yankees faced the National League Giants for a defensive battle. Starting on the mound for the Yankees was Gabe Scott for 4 innings. Yankees scored first in the 2nd inning and 2 more time in the 3rd inning including Calvin Thompson first solo home run this season. Yankees held the Giants scoreless until the 4th inning and then the Yankees added one more run the top of the sixth for insurance. The sandman Joey Olejniczak entered the game as relief pitcher in the 5th inning. He closed out the game with a 9 pitched 6th inning striking out 3 batters giving the Yankees the win
Tigers 12 – Cardinals 1
Ben Praet and his 3rd complete game on the mound held the Cardinal bats at bay tonight. 5 complete innings striking out 11 and only allowing 1 unearned run in the 1st innings. All this in 75 pitches. Kaleb Pritchard hit his first major league home run to straight away centerfield and also doubled for a 3 RBI game. Ben went 2 for 2 with a triple, walk and 2 RBI. Brother Max Praet singled and walked. Lukas Pietsch went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Julian Young in his first game in the #4 spot went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI. Charlie Rocho added a singled and DJ Edwards was 1 for 1 with a walk. Some solid defense put in tonight by Kaleb in Center, Henry Rocho at third and Max at second. While Lukas was his usual playmaking and infield captain at first. Always letting his team know what is going on in the field at all times. A solid team effort tonight by the entire team!

Yankees faced the National League Cardinals and starting on the mound was Kenyan Powers for two innings. Joe O’Neill made his pitching debut. It was a back and forth game thru the 3rd inning. Yankees broke it open the bottom of the 4th with six runs including a double by K. Powers and triple by M. Young. Joey Olejniczak came in the 4th inning throwing 10 pitches for 3 outs and had a equally strong 5th inning. Yankees added 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to wrap up the game.

A battle on LL#1 tonight between these 2 teams. The Giant hitting attack was led by Tyler Zielinski who went 2 for 2 with a walk, Mason Tringali had 2 hits including a double & 2 RBI, Matt Cichocki added a single and a walk and made a great catch in left and a diving catch at first. Rodd Monts make a nice catch in right. Great relief work by Bo Leonard to hold the Tigers bats silent after they had 8 in his 3 innings of work. The Tigers hitting was led by Julian Young who had a 2 RBI evening with a single, Kenyon Pritchard went 1 for 2 with an RBI. Ben Praet and Henry Rocho each added singles. Great pitching by Cam Wilson until his arm got sore. The Tigers called on Kaleb Pritchard who threw hard for his first pitching experience on his ML career and Max Praet had 2 strikeouts on the mound.
Yankees 13 – LC Orioles 7
Yankees played their first inter-league game vs. the L’Anse Creuse Orioles. Pitching for the Yankees was Calvin Thompson, Bobby Rhodes and Antonio Jemison. Highlights from this game include KB Bryant had a shot Right Center Field, Kenyan Powers had a two doubles and Joey Olejniczak had his first Grand Slam in the 3rd inning.

The first crossover Saturday of the year brought excitement to the park today! The Tigers came out to earn a victory by hitting the ball all over the field. Led by Julian Young who went 3 for 3 with a triple, Kaleb Pritchard also went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI, DJ Edwards continues to hit well for the young 9 year old he is by going 2 for 2 and a walk. Caleb Morisette wen 2 for 2 with 4 RBI. Charlie Rocho had 2 hits with 2 RBI, brother Henry Rocho also had 2 hits and an RBI. Jon Tae Wright and Lukas Pietsch each had hits with each driving in Runs, Lucas also walked twice. Max Praet had a hit and RBI. Camden Wilson walked twice and scored 2. Today the Tigers got a chance to look at some other pitching candidates with Max, Henry and Caleb each pitching tonight. Great Game Boys!

Good game today by the Giants. Bo Leonard pitched 3 no-hit innings walking 1 and striking out 9. Tyler Zielinski came in and pitched well for 1.2 innings and Joey Willis came in fir the last out. Good defense by Kam Garfield at 2nd base along with catchers Matt Cichocki and Landen Willis.
Mason Tringali was 4 for 4, Terry Smith 1 for 1 with 2 walks, Joey 3 for 3 with a walk, Elise Chaperon 1 for 2 with 2 walks, Matt 2 for 3 with a walk, Bo 2 for 4, Kam 1 for 2 with a walk, Rodd Monts 1 for 3, and Jonah Chaperon 1 for 2 with a walk. Yankees played a close game against the Cardinals. On the mound was Bobby Rhodes in his starting debut. He pitched for two innings. Relieved by Gabe Scott who went the distance for four innings to close. Highlights include three doubles by Calvin Thompson. A double by Antonio Jemison. Defense was critical in securing the Yankee W.

Ben ” The Jet Praet took the mound today for the Tigers throwing a complete game in only 70 pitches. Striking out 7 in the process! At the plate the Tiger team all contributed. Ben helped his cause going 2 for 2 with a walk and 2 runs. DJ “The Rocket” Edwards went 1 for 2 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Lukas Pietsch wen 3 for 3 with a Home Run, Double and single also stealing 3 bases and driving in 4 runs. Henry “The Hammer” Rocho continues his hitting ways singling, Kenyon Pritchard added a single, Charlie “Big Poison” Rocho reached base twice and scored while Max “The Rocket Praet” walked and laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt. Some great defense tonight put in by Caleb “Hippie” Morisette who made a great catch in leftfield. DJ was a rock behind the plate, And the entire infield played solid.

It was a battle for 3 innings of back and forth scoring, but the Yankees broke it open in the final 3 innings. The Tiger bright spots were DJ Edwards who played a great second base tonight and doubling at the plate.
Lukas Pietsch homered tonight, Camden Wilson was great on the mound and added a single at the plate. Other hitters were brothers Pritchard each singling. Hats off to the Yankees tonight for a well played game for the entire 6 innings.
Yankees played American league rivals the Tigers. Starting pitcher for the Yankees was Kenyan Powers who pitched into the 5th inning being relieved by Gabe Scott. Kenyan and Gabe had spectacular performances on the mound that took care of business. Highlights include two 3 run homers one by Kenyan Powers and the other by Joey Olejniczak in the 5th and 6th innings adding insurance runs to our lead. The entire Yankee team displayed high energy, great defensive skills, winning attitude and great sportsmanship.

Cardinals 12 – Tigers 9
A barn burner at he old ballpark tonight. The Cardinals earned their first win of the season while the Tigers lost their first. Ben Praet and Cam Wilson pitched well for the Tigers, but one inning the Tigers allowed 8 runs to fall behind. They fought back but fell short tonight. Some Tiger hitters were Henry Rocho who doubled and also made a great catch in center. Julian was 2 for 3, DJ Edwards was 2 for 4, Ben Praet added a hit, as did Camden Wilson and Charlie Rocho. Some fine pitching for the Cards by Tashawn Eatmon and Quintez White. With solid defense behind them by KJ Kelsey at second base.

The Yankees jumped out to an early 8-2 lead but the Giants were able to fight back led by Mason Tringali’s grand slam. This game will be completed at a later date

Strong pitching by Joey Willis (65 P, 3.2 IP, 1 run, 2 hits, 2 walks, 5K) and Bo Leonard (35 P, 2.1 IP, 1 hit, 1 HBP, 7 K) led the Giants. Tyler, Zielinski, Devion Quinton, Mason Tringali, Joey, Terry Smith Elise Chaperon and Rodd Monts all had hits. Thee whole team had good at bats tonight.
Tigers 17 – Yankees 4
A solid pitching performance tonight by Ben Praet, only allowing 2 hits while striking out 9 and only walking 1 batter. Some errors behind him helped the Yankee cause. At the plate the Tigers were led by Rookie Sensation Max “The Rocket” Praet who went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Also contributing was Ben who doubled, singled and scored 2, Julian Young continues to rip the cover off the ball going 2 for 3 with a double and scored 3. Lukas Pietsch was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and a HBP also stealing 2 bases and driving in a run. Caleb Morisette walked all 3 times and scored twice, Jon Tae “Cool Papa J” singled as did DJ Edwards while Kaleb Pritchard was 2 for 3. Great Teamwork Boys

Another close game that went down to the wire. The Yankees jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st but the Giants bounced back in the bottom half when Tyler Zielinski hit the 1st pitch over the right field fence for his first career HR! The Yankees added 1 in the 3rd 2 more in the 4th while the Giants managed 2 in the 3rd but added 4 in the 5th to take a 7-5 lead and were able to hold on for the win.
Strong pitching on both sides kept hitters off balance most of the game. Mason Tringali pitched a solid 4.2 innings striking out 10 batters and added a single and a double. Joe Willis closed out the final 1.1 striking out 3 batters and contributing 2 singles. Matt Cichocki played a solid game behind the plate and is gaining valuable experience back there. Elise Chaperon contributed a double and Rodd Monts and Landen Willis each has a single. Good game by both teams
Tigers 17 – Cardinals 2
The Tigers bats came alive today for their opening day victory. Brothers Henry & Charlie Rocho had their 1st Major League hits today, Cam “Big Hurt” Wilson continues his now 3 game hitting streak by singling, doubling and driving in 2 runs. Rookie sensation DJ “Flash” Edwards not only had 2 doubles and 2 RBI, but he made his debut behind the plate and was superb. Lukas “Georgia Peach” Pietsch had a 5 RBI day with a Home Run that landed deep into Diamond 2 and a triple and was superb on the mound striking out 8 and only giving up 1 hit and the 2 runs. Julian “Jules” Young went 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI, then came in to finish the game striking out 3 Cardinals. Brother Pritchard each walked as did Caleb Morisette and Max Praet for a total team effort today!

What a battle on LL#1 tonight. With both teams playing stellar defense behind some great pitcher for both teams. The Tigers were led by Ben “The Jet” Praet’s starting pitching going 4-2/3 innings striking out 6 while only walking 2 and giving up 5 hits. Julian Young came in for the final 1-1/3 innings allowing no hits and striking out 1. Some stellar defense tonight by Tiger 3rd baseman Henry “The Hammer” Rocho who put on a defensive highlight reel. Also the duo of 2nd basemen Max “The Rocket” Praet and DJ “Flash” Edwards played very well and our coming on strong as young 9 year olds. The big defensive play was put in by Caleb “Hippie” Morisette, who gunned down a running trying to steal 3rd to end the ballgame. The Tiger hitting was led by Ben’s 3 for 3 performance to help his cause, Julian had a crucial single and a walk with 2 stolen bases. Camden “Big Hurt” Wilson added a single as did Kaleb Pritchard. The Tiger team decided before the game that there were going to give it all and have a fun night no matter the outcome. Solid Team Play!

The Cardinals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first but strong pitching by Joey Willis (3.2 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 2 walks, 7k) kept the score close. Mason Tringalli (2.1 IP, 1 run, 2 hits, 3 walks, 5k) kept it a 1-0 game. The Giants bats woke up in the 6th inning with Devion Quinten, Tyler Zielinski and Bo Leonard all hitting doubles and Ryan Jenkins adding a single to score all 4 Giants runs. Tayshawn Eatmon hit a solo HR for the Cards in the bottom of the 6th to make it 4-2 but the Giants were able to hold on for the win.
Tigers 6 – Yankees 3
The Tigers were led by the pitching duo of Lukas Pietsch and Ben Praet’s stellar relief performance. Only 2 Yankee hits. Some great Tiger defensive plays were put in by Kaleb Pritchard in center who made a great catch and threw a BB to Lukas Pietsch at first to double of the runner. Caleb Morisette was stellar behind the plate in his Major League debut as a catcher. Made some mistakes, but his arm more than made up for it by throwing out 5 runners one of which was crucial on a passed ball he made the perfect flip to Lukas to nail the runner at the plate. Rookie sensation Camden “Big Hurt” Wilson made a stellar catch in right. At the plate the Tigers were led by Julian Young’s 2 doubles, Lukas was 2 for 2 and Kaleb Pritchard drove in a run. The entire team went up there swinging a good bat for 1st game of the season. It was a great night at the ball park with veterans Calvin Thompson and Lukas Pietsch on the mound for the first game of the season for the American League Rivals. Calvin had a strong showing on the mound, for the visiting Yankees for two inning start, displaying his ability to strike out batters and field the ball. Yankees scored all their runs in the 2nd inning with Kenyan Powers, Joey Olejniczak & Gabe Scott crossing the plate. The game was tied going into the 3rd inning. Markiese Young made his catching debut in the 3rd inning behind the plate and showed high energy and talent. Yankees threatened with 2 players on but fell short of scoring. Veteran Joey Olejniczak stepped on the mound for the bottom of the 5th inning and displayed his talent as a relief pitcher.
