WHAT A SEASON! Baseball From boys that have never put on a baseball glove nor swung a baseball bat to a TEAM that does their best on any given day, this Bee team improved immensely over the past 12 weeks! Playing with integrity and not letting other players or spectators comments bring them down and having fun, listening and learning and being the best baseball player they could be on game day was what we as Coaches wanted from the start of the season and the Bees did not let us down. They played with heart, intent and humor. They learned how to play well with 10 other boys from different skill levels and backgrounds. They learned how to take the instruction given and put it to use on the field. They learned. They played. And we hope they had fun. Keep a cool head, a level bat and a quick glove and you will go far Bees.Honeybee

Closing remarks ~ the Coaches wish to thank every parent, grandparent, sibling and friend for the support you have shown the team throughout the season. The Coaches had as much fun, if not more at times, than the boys did and we Thank You! Thank you for sharing your child with us.

Knights 16 – Bees 12

6/20

Tonight the Bees chose their positions….and what FUN it was!!  Aveon, Anthony, Donovan & Kwintyn all debuted on the mound tonight and they showed their skill and growth as pitchers. All players got on base, Calen hit a triple and several singles and Kenyan had a double and a single, Nate smacked a single too! Defensively the plays were many but highlights include ~ a 1-3 play from Anthony to Xavier, a 1-3 play from Calen to Kwin, a 1-3 from Nate to Calen, an infield fly catch by Andrew, another one by Xavier and a fantastic rundown from 5-2 by Kenyan to Anthony! This was a F-U-N game and the Coaches are proud of you Bees!Honeybee

Knights 8 – Chihuahua 6

6/18

Those amazing Knights continue to roll toward being ready for the playoffs with another great team effort on a very warm afternoon defeating another very worthy opponent 8 to 6 improving their record to 9 and 6. Their hitting and fielding have really come together as a team and will be the team to watch. Great Job Team!!!

Red Wings 5 – Bees 1

6/18

It was a hot one on LL2 today. Xavier commanded the mound allowing only 2 hits in the first 4 innings before he started to wane and then Kelton finished the game with 7 pitches. There were some great plays besides pitching on the mound today as well ~ Xavier tossed one to Calen at first for and out and opened his glove as a line drive flew right back at him and Kelton was quick on his feet for running down a bouncer and tagging first for an out as well. Calen was solid at first, getting everything his way as well as snagging a popfly. Kelton had a single, Kenyan hit a deep center double getting an RBI. Everyone did exactly as they were supposed to do and it was an overall good game. See you on the diamond Bees!

Knights 9 – Red Wings 8

6/15

“Oh What a Knight” those amazing Knights made it three in a row by knocking of the Bulls and the Red Wings this week by two walk off wins. The team quieted those comments of their worthy opponents of “clinching” before each game by excellent teamwork both offenseively and defensively never giving up. Congratulations coach Mike and team on jobs well done

Bulls 9 – Chihuahua 4

6/15

Chihuahua 13 – Bees 3

6/13

There were some nice plays on the field tonight! Kelton scooped up a grounder and made a spot-on throw to Xavier at first for an out. Calen palmed one at the mound to Xavier for another out and then was paying attention as he ran to second to get the runner out for another out. Nice work Bees! Calen had a single, Kenyan had a single & a double, Andrew had a single, Nathan also a single. Instead of nuts & bolts tonight, the Bees were treated to a concession stand snack by Grandad Joe. Thank you Joe! See you on the field Bees!

Knights 6 – Bulls 2

6/13

Knights 6 – Bees 3

6/8

Bees you played well tonight! You all watched the ball, went after it and had FUN! Calen had a nice double, Xavier had a single, Aveon also had a single and we welcomed Gerald back from the DL as he smacked a single for an RBI as well! Nathan and Kenyan both did well on the mound and Kenyan kept getting hotter and hotter as the night wore on. Grinning face with smiling eyes There were many calls both teams disagreed with tonight on LL1 as we had a very rookie ump, but you opened your strike zones above your head and made adjustments as best as you could, even though you knew in doing so was against everything we have been drilling you on. You also let the coaches bring issues up to the umpire and did not act out on the field or in the dugout. You handled yourself well tonight Bees, very well indeed and the coaches thank you

Red Wings 10 – Bulls 9

6/8

Knights 3 – Chihuahua 2

6/6

Red Wings 7 – Bees 2

6/6

Oh there were some GREAT plays tonight Bees! Anthony was behind the plate and had 2 at home outs, Kelton snagged a grounder and had a spot on throw to Xavier at first for another out but perhaps the most remembered play of the night was the double play in the infield ~ Aveon got under an infield fly, the runners kept advancing and amid the confusion, tossed the ball to Andrew and he threw the ball to Xavier. WOW! That was exciting baseball! Aveon smacked a triple on the first pitch in the first inning, Nathan shot a double and there were several singles. The bats were finding the ball and the runners just could not beat out the tag. Keep working the plays Bees!

Chihuahua 17 – CFLL Pirates 2

Red Wings 14 – CFLL Rockies 4

6/4

Bees 13 – CFLL Red Sox 11

6/4

The Bees had some FUN today at LL1 and got the game in before the rain came! Kelton debuted at pitcher tonight and did rather well and he did a great 1-3 to Xavier, Calen had a scoreless few innings also with a few 1-3 to Xavier and Andrew closed out the game from the mound also with a 1-3 (and at second he had a great 4-3 play).  Xavier was solid at first, with several assisted outs and a snag & tag. One of the fan favorite highlights was Aveon bobbling the ball, dropping and then palming it all while touching the bag and then looking at the Coaches stating “He’s out, right?!” while covering second. Bear ran hard and thought of the plays before releasing the ball, Anthony was on target throwing from catcher to pitcher.Aveon had a double and a single, Xavier was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles, Nathan was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, Anthony also hit a double as did Kwin, Gerald got his bat on the ball as well and Kenyan smacked a triple to the fence. But the coaches were most impressed with the decision Kelton made to go back to touch the base he missed at the same time the baseman tagged him out. The integrity he showed by being tagged out but knowing he missed the bag as he was running hard from second to third was admirable. Thank you Kelton for showing everyone that the right decision is the decision where your integrity is not questioned.  Boys, you played and had fun today and it showed ~ GREAT JOB!

It was a rather warm night at LL2 tonight but what a great night for baseball (as if any night wouldn’t be).  The Bees welcomed Andrew back from the DL with a well-healed leg and he had some pep in his step and some whip in his arm as he covered center and fired one into second keeping a runner to a single.  Gerald debuted behind the plate and this rookie was being scouted by the bigs. Calen was hot on the mound tonight throwing some heat. Nathan was tight on first and also kept his head about him as he snagged a popfly. Anthony had great backup at second. Kelton was solid at short and had a great assist as he threw one on target to Nate at first for an out. Aveon was quick feet and even quicker hands as he snagged a grounder and shot it to Xavier at first for an out. Bear came back from a leave and chatted his team up, assisting coaches calls. Kenyan took over behind the plate from Gerald and did a fine job as well. Kwin kept his head up, his arm moving and his eyes focused tonight. Xavier went 2-2 with a great triple and a beautiful slide. See you on the field Bees!

Bulls 9 – Knights 5

Chihuahua 12 – Red Wings 10

Bulls 6 – Bees 3

5/23

A fantastic night for baseball at the good ole’ LL2 ballpark tonight! Pitching and defense shined for the Bulls tonight! Great plays by Camden “Cam The Man” Wilson at third base, Darrell “Prime Time” Battle at second base, and a cannon putout by Aiden “Abomb” Barbour from left field were ESPN’s top plays of the night. Max “The Rocket” Praet came in relief with quality and efficient pitching in 2 1/3 innings with six strikeouts. Alex “The Coach” Willis came in the third inning for his first minor league pitching performance of his career. Finishing with one strikeout, Alex showed alot of potential on the mound in his first appearance. William “Bo” Woodward was money again for the Bulls. Coming in with the bases loaded in the fourth, Bo struck out the next two batters to end the inning. Finishing with three strikeouts and one run given up over 1 2/3 innings. For the second straight game Cam came in throwing heat by striking out the side in the top of the six to give the Bulls a hard battled 6-3 win. Shining at the plate for the Bulls tonight was Landen “Lando” Willis going 2-3 with four RBI’s and his first career inside the park homerun. Great job Lando! A perfect day at the plate for Max “The Rocket” Praet going 1-1 with two hit by pitches. RBI’s by Kyle “Big Game” Fox and Aiden “Abomb” Barbour finished the scoring for the Bulls. Another solid team effort by the Bulls. Keep working hard and never give up! Great job team!!!

Bees, you stayed in the game tonight and we see an improvement. There were some nice plays and backups on the field too! Anthony covered home plate well and it was an oh-so-close play at the plate that he was trying for. He also was solid in the field as well, great job tonight Anthony! Kenyan started on the mound and was straight on for 3-1/2 then gave it up to Calen who closed out the game. If you thought it was warm to begin with, both pitchers heated up the mound even more! Aveon was vocal tonight, letting his team know what was happening and swinging hard at the ever increasing strike zone. Nathan not only was solid at SS but his bat wasn’t still either, getting an RBI. But tonight it was Kelton ~ Kelton just wasn’t giving up tonight in the box, making the pitcher work hard and he came away with an RBI as well. Keep working at it Bees, the improvements just keep coming

He continued by throwing hard strikes to the Bees hitters and striking out the next batter to end the fourth. Plays by Darrell “Prime Time” Battle (walk), Aidan Barbour (single & RBI) and Alex Willis (single & RBI) extended the lead to 11-0 going into the bottom of the fifth. Cam continued with hard strikes and finished the game with his second strikeout of the game along with no hits given up. Three pitchers combining for a NO HITTER for the Bulls! Fantastic job pitching Max, Bo and Cam! A GREAT team effort by all! Keep up the good work Bulls!

Knights 4 – Bees 3

5/18

It was a beautiful night for baseball yesterday at LL#2, as the Knights faced the Bees. The game started with the big hurler Xavier Emanuel on the mound for the Bees pitching outstanding as usual holding the Knights to only one run. On the mound for the Knights was Justin Willingham who pitched four innings with several strikeouts. The bats for the Bees came out of the gate strong getting an early lead, but the Knights battled through it to get back on top with the help of a shot down the left field line by Devin Humphrey to put the Knights on top. A great play by Kenny Hoff at second base helped hold the lead. The game was then put to rest by Devion Quainton who struck out two in the bottom of the six.
Great job by both teams, these are the games to watch when both teams battle back and forth and never give up.

The Bees got to pick their positions tonight against the Knights and with many of them in positions they have not played before, they did well. Both Xavier and Kenyan had a low pitch count for their time on the mound and Xavier had a diving catch for an out as well. The bats were swinging in the quite generous strike zone, so much so that the Bees were going for pitches that shouldn’t have been called strikes but they tried adapting to the eyeball to toe zone.It was a well matched game and all played to match. See you on the field Bees!

Chihuahua 4 – Knights 3

Red Wings 9 – Bees 8

The progression during the little league season is always amazing to watch! A team is made from a mix of kids that haven’t played together, thrust in a group of other kids who may or may not have played ball before, a few volunteer coaches and *poof* a team is created. Some kids show more initial skill than others, some are fast learners, some need extra encouragement, some are natural athletes. But collectively they are a team and as a TEAM they will win and they will lose, it will NOT be just one member of this organization that will determine the win or loss, it will be the TEAM.Bees, you played good ball. You each brought a new level to your game. You each had fun. You each worked as a TEAM. Individually ~ Kelton smacked a single down the first base foul line for an RBI, Anthony walloped the ball for a double, Kenyan hit a driver down the third base line for a double and eeked out a home run, Nathan, Aveon and Gerald also connected tonight! Calen was spot on 3rd and got under a popfly as well as taking the mound tonight along with Xavier and Kenyan. Bees, you played good ball. You brought a new level to your game. You had fun. You worked as a TEAM.

Red Wings 8 – Bulls 7

5/13

What an exciting game at the ballpark tonight folks! The Bulls were held scoreless in the first inning with great pitching by Dionte’ Smith of the Red Wings. In the bottom of the first the Red Wings brought out there hitting sticks and scored three runs on timely hitting and base running. In the top of the second the Bulls bats came alive. Camden “Cam The Man” Wilson came up and smashed a double into rightfield. Next up, Darrell “Prime Time” Battle came in and smashed a single to center scoring Cam. With two runners on base, Aidan “Abomb” Barbour hit a frozen rope single to centerfield scoring two runs. In the bottom of the second inning the Red Wings were held scoreless by the excellent pitching of Manuel “Manny” Rivera. Manny gave the Bulls pitching staff a lift tonight by going 3 innings with 8 strikeouts. Great job Manny! Opening the third inning, Alex “The Coach” Willis worked the count and was able to reach base with a lead off walk. Next up, Max “The Rocket” Praet had a great eye at the plate and was able to reach base on a walk. Using the double steal the Bulls were able to advance both runners over to third and second base. Landen “Lando” Willis came up and hit a shot up the middle but the Red Wings second baseman made a nice play and got Lando out at first. With heads up baserunning on the play, Alex and Max were able to score on the play giving the Bulls a 6-3 lead going into the bottom of the third. The Red Wings cut the lead to 6-4 after the third inning. In the fourth Cam The Man came up to bat and smashed his second double of the game over the right fielders head but was thrown out at third on an excellent relay from the Red Wings rightfielder and second baseman. GREAT job Cam! Keep up the good work! Holding the Bulls scoreless in the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth the Red Wings bats came alive again with three runs giving them a lead of 7-6 after four. With excellent baserunning by Aidan Barbour, the Bulls were able to even the game at 7 going into the bottom of the fifth. With a time two hour time limit in effect, the bottom of the fifth would be the end of the game. The lead off runner for the Red Wings came in and got a leadoff walk. Timely baserunning by the Red Wings would then give them the walkoff win tonight by the final score of 8-7. Great game by both teams! Keep your heads up and be proud Bulls! Everyone made solid contributions in the game this evening. Continue to work hard and play as a TEAM! Great job!

Knights 10 –  Bees 9

5/13

What a beautiful night for baseball!! The Bees have come together quite well as a team and it was pointed out to them that they are playing WELL as a team too! This was a good game going back and forth between the two teams with several great plays. Nathan pitched and also fielded a dribbler to Xavier for an out at first. Calen was solid at third and had a 5-3 for an out too. Kenyan also had a 1-3. Kwintyn debuted behind the plate and did an incredible job for a rookie! All Bees were swinging their bats tonight! It was hard to highlight just the really good plays tonight as the Bees were all in the same caliber of play. We just keep learning from each game experience and you boys are putting it into play. Keep it up Bees!

Bulls 3 – Chihuahua 2

5/11

A battle of two great pitching and fielding teams at LL2 this evening! The Bulls came out swinging in the first with one run on hits from Max “The Jet” Praet and Landen “Lando” Willis. Getting his first start of the year, Dante “The Brick Wall” Messina came out throwing strikes! Timely hitting by the Chihuahuas evened the score at 1 after the first inning. Over the next two innings both teams were kept off the scoreboard with great pitching and defense. Timely strikeouts by Dante Messina kept the Chihuahuas off the scoreboard. Manuel “Manny Rivera led off the fourth with a “BANG”. He hit a shot to third base and beat out the throw to first. He then took second and third on an overthrow to first base on the play. While running to third base the throw from first got away from the Chihuahuas third baseman and Manny was able to run in for the Bulls second run of the game for an inside the park homerun. The next batter up, Landen Willis hit a shot to right center over the right fielders head for his first triple of the year. The next batter up, William “Bo” Woodward hit a shot to the shortstop but was thrown out at first on a great play. Landen Willis scoring on the play (RBI by “Bo”) and giving the Bulls a 3 to 1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth. Manuel “Manny” Rivera came in throwing the “HEAT” in the fourth inning. Timely hitting once again by the Chihuahuas cut the Bulls lead to 3-2 after four. With the tying run at third base in the bottom of the fifth, the Bulls brought in there closer Landen “Lando” Willis. As he has done all year for the Bulls, Lando came out throwing strikes and was able to cut the Chihuahuas hitter down with a strikeout for the final out of the fifth inning. Opening the sixth and final inning, Darrell “Prime Time” Battle hit a nice shot for an infield single. Unable to advance Darrell in the last inning, the Bulls took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth. The first batter for the Chihuahuas came up and hit a shot to Manny at shortstop. He fielded the ball clean and through a bullet to Bo at first for the first out of the inning. The next batter hit a shot out to right field. Aidan “Abomb” Barbour made a beautiful one handed snag for the second out of the inning. Then Lando finished off the game with a strikeout for his fifth save of the year. Giving the Bulls a 3-2 win! Excellent job by all. This was a total team effort. Keep up the good work!

A pitching duel at the ballpark tonight folks! The Bulls were led off with exceptional pitching from Max “The Jet” Praet for the first three innings of the game. Holding the Knights scoreless in the first inning, the Bulls came out with there hitting sticks going in the first. Hits by Max “The Jet” Praet, Landen “Lando” Willis, William “Bo” Woodward and Dante “The Brick Wall” Messina gave the Bulls a 2-0 lead after the first inning. Outstanding defensive plays by Darrell “Prime Time” Battle and Dorian “The Flash” Musser helped keep the Knights from only scoring two runs over the next three innings. The hitting continued for the Bulls in the fourth and fifth innings with hits by Darrell “Prime Time” Battle, Dorian “The Flash” Musser, Kyle “Big Game” Fox, Manuel “Manny” Rivera and William “Bo” Woodward giving the Bulls a 4-2 lead going in to the last inning. Your coach’s are very proud of you! Keep up the good work!

 Bees 3 – Chihuahua 2

5/9

The Bees had a honey of a time tonight and it showed on their faces! They enjoyed the game, played well and were encouraging to each other. Calen pitched, cashing in on multiple strikeouts, getting under a popfly AND (as if that wasn’t enough) had an infield home run at his first visit to the plate! Bear was catching well until he got caught in the knee with a heater. No worries, he got even with the ball as he smacked it hard on his last at bat, earning the winning RBI. Kenyan came in as relief catcher to finish the game and did a spectacular job as well. Gerald was swinging the bat well tonight and when he connected, he ran hard. Kwin also drove a ball to the outfield, getting himself an RBI as well. Bees, you played to have fun tonight and you did that and more. Coaches are proud of you, keep it up!

Bulls 9 – Bees 6

5/7

It took some time for the Bees to swarm up and begin to play well today at LL2 but they had some fun and played their best and THAT is what matters the most to the coaches. Aveon chatted the team up throughout the game. Kenyan and Xavier did well on the mound, Kenyan had 4 strikeouts and Xavier had 7 as well as snatching a line drive back at the mound and a few assists to Nathan at first. Calen called it and got the popfly and backed up the mound nicely. Offensively, The Bees were finding their bats and Aveon went 2-3 hitting a double, Kenyan also 2-3 and eeked a triple, Nathan was 2-3, Anthony was persistent, Kelton too, Xavier 2-3 with a double, Calen 2-3 and Bear got beat up by the ball today but he also got HUNGRY! Better ball today Bees!

 Red Wings 2 – Bees 1

5/6

Great day for baseball! Kenyan, Xavier and Calen all did their job on the mound and Bear, Anthony and Kenyan also did a great job behind the plate. Calen was also 2-2 and Nathan was 2-3. Aveon had a nice assist to Xavier for an out and the Bees were just too much in their own head to pull out the win. Bees, you may not have come out with a win on this one, but you came out with more experience for the next. See you on the field!

Knights 3 – Chihuahua 2

5/6

Friday was a beautiful night for baseball over at SR#2, No Rain! The Knights faced the Chihuahua’s in what turned out to be a great pitching duel. On the mound for the Chihuahuas was Bobby Rhodes and for the Knights Devion Quainton. The Knights bats gave good offence joined by the outstanding 15 strike outs Devion, who by the way went the distance under his max pitch count, a great catch was made by shortstop Terrell Crosson for the Knights, and very good base running. A special thanks to Alex Wills and Jerrell Crosson for helping us out. Great Game Guys!

Bees 11 – Chihuahua 1

It was cold at the field tonight but The Bees brought the heat and were on FIRE and they were having FUN! Bats were blazing, pitches were straight and gloves were active as the Bees welcomed the win. Xavier was solid on the mound with 11 strikeouts and an assist to Kenyan at first. Kelton got under the pop fly, called his teammates off and nabbed it from the sky! Calen also had an assist as he fielded a shot off third and threw straight to Kenyan for an out at first. Andrew shifted with every movement of the ball and backed up the pitcher to hold runners from advancing. Bear was solid behind the plate again tonight as was Nathan. Offensively, Kwintyn was 2-2, Xavier had an infield homerun, Gerald smacked the seams of the ball to outfield, Anthony watched the ball, getting a solid single as well as base on ball, Aveon was on base both at bats as well. Every practice and game we are seeing a big improvement from the time before Bees and we know tonight you felt and saw a difference too. Keep it up Bees, keep it up!

Bulls 5 – Knights 4

4/27

Bulls 9 – Bees 1

4/25

Opening Day for The Bees, hosted by the Bulls at LL1 and The Bees had FUN!

There were some GREAT defensive plays in this game and the teamwork between the players was noticeable. Andrew took the mound with 2 strikeouts and a 1-3 to Xavier in the first. Kenyan pitched after with 8 strikeouts. Xavier was solid at first. Gerald (first year player) had an incredible play with a perfect throw from LF to Kelton at second for an out in the 5th. Donovan, aka Bear and also first year player, got hungry behind the plate as he made his first-time appearance in the Great American Game and had some good moves and if we had replay, he would’ve had a definite out at home. J Our bats weren’t finding the ball as much as we would’ve liked but not bad, not bad at all Bees. With only 8 practices under the belt of many of these players, the coaches are very happy and proud of the way you played as a team and know it will only get better as the season continues. Way to go Bees!
